What Deposit Methods Does Binance Support

· About 13 min

Two Main Categories of Deposits

"Depositing" on Binance has two meanings: one is buying crypto with fiat currency (CNY, USD, etc.), and the other is transferring crypto you already own from elsewhere. These two methods serve different scenarios and involve completely different operations.

Fiat Deposit Methods

C2C Trading (Top Choice for Mainland China Users)

C2C (peer-to-peer) trading is the primary way for mainland China users to buy crypto with CNY.

How it works: You pay a seller on the platform with CNY, and the seller releases crypto (usually USDT) to you. Binance holds the seller's assets in escrow as an intermediary to ensure transaction security.

Supported payment methods:

  • Bank transfer
  • Alipay
  • WeChat Pay (supported by some merchants)

Pros:

  • Operate directly in CNY without converting to foreign currency first
  • Simple process, completed in 5-15 minutes
  • Binance escrow ensures high security
  • Flexible amounts from tens to hundreds of thousands of CNY

Cons:

  • USDT price runs 1-3% above the official USD exchange rate (market premium)
  • Frequent large transactions may trigger bank risk controls
  • Need to wait for merchant to confirm and release coins

Entry point: App home → Buy Crypto → C2C Trading

Quick Buy

Quick Buy is another fiat channel offered by Binance, though it has limited availability for mainland China users.

How it works: The system automatically matches orders — you just enter the amount and payment method without choosing a specific merchant.

Differences from C2C:

  • Quick Buy is more like "one-click purchase" with simpler operation
  • C2C lets you choose merchants and compare prices for more flexibility
  • Quick Buy prices may be slightly higher than C2C (since the comparison step is skipped)

Recommendation: If you don't mind a 1-2% price difference and want maximum simplicity, use Quick Buy. If you want better prices, use C2C and manually select merchants.

Credit/Debit Card Purchase

Binance supports direct crypto purchases using Visa, Mastercard, and other international credit cards. However, this option is largely unavailable for mainland China users:

  • Most China-issued bank cards don't support this channel
  • Even with an available international credit card, fees are high (typically 2-3%)
  • Transactions may be declined by the bank

Best for: Users with overseas bank cards.

Third-Party Payment Channels

Binance integrates several third-party payment providers (such as Banxa, Simplex, etc.) supporting multiple fiat currencies and payment methods. Availability is limited for mainland China users, but if you have a USD or other foreign currency account, these channels can be used for deposits.

On-Chain Deposit Methods

If you already hold crypto on other platforms or in wallets, you can transfer assets to Binance via blockchain.

How It Works

  1. In the Binance App, tap "Wallet" → "Deposit"
  2. Select the coin you want to deposit (e.g., BTC, ETH, USDT)
  3. Select the correct network (chain) — this step is critical
  4. Binance will display a deposit address (a string of letters and numbers)
  5. Copy this address
  6. In your source wallet or exchange, use the "Withdraw/Transfer" function and paste Binance's deposit address
  7. Confirm the transfer
  8. Assets arrive automatically after blockchain confirmation

The Critical Importance of Choosing the Right Network

This is where beginners most commonly make mistakes. The same cryptocurrency can exist on multiple blockchains, and you must select the network that matches the sender's network. For example, USDT exists on these networks:

Network Speed Fee Best For
TRC20 (Tron) Fast (minutes) Low (~1 USDT) Everyday transfers — top choice
ERC20 (Ethereum) Slow (minutes to tens of minutes) High (depends on gas) Transfers within ETH ecosystem
BEP20 (BNB Chain) Fast (minutes) Low BNB Chain ecosystem
SOL (Solana) Fast Very low Solana ecosystem

Critical warning: If you select the wrong network (e.g., sending from a TRC20 address to an ERC20 address), assets may be permanently lost and unrecoverable. Always verify that the sender and receiver networks match before making a deposit.

On-Chain Deposit Arrival Times

Arrival time depends on blockchain confirmation speed:

  • BTC: Usually requires 2-6 block confirmations, approximately 20-60 minutes
  • ETH/ERC20: Usually requires 12 block confirmations, approximately 3-5 minutes
  • TRC20: Usually confirmed within minutes
  • BEP20: Usually confirmed within minutes

After reaching the blockchain, Binance needs a brief internal confirmation process before reflecting in your account. In most cases, funds appear within minutes of blockchain confirmation.

On-Chain Deposit Fees

Binance does not charge deposit fees. However, when you initiate a transfer from your source wallet/exchange, you'll need to pay the on-chain transfer fee (miner fee/gas fee). This fee goes to the blockchain network, not to Binance.

Internal Transfers

If both parties have Binance accounts, you can use Binance's internal transfer feature.

Pros:

  • Zero fees
  • Instant arrival
  • No blockchain confirmation needed

How: On the withdrawal/transfer page, select "Internal Transfer" and enter the recipient's Binance UID, email, or phone number.

Deposit Recommendations for New Users

First Deposit

  1. Use C2C trading to buy USDT (simplest and safest)
  2. Start with a small amount (100-500 CNY to learn the process)
  3. Choose merchants with high transaction volumes and positive ratings

Subsequent Deposits

  • Regular small amounts: Continue using C2C trading
  • Transferring from other platforms: Use on-chain deposits, preferring TRC20 (low fees, fast speed)
  • Large amounts: Process in batches to avoid triggering risk controls with a single large transfer

Things You Should Never Do

  • Don't share any information beyond your deposit address with strangers
  • Don't use deposit links from unknown sources
  • Don't conduct fiat transactions outside the Binance platform (no escrow protection)
  • Don't make deposits while on a public network
